Maybe you think you know me, or maybe you don't.

You can call me Turis but my full name is Turisaina Tukiman.
23 is the age that I reach this year.
TESL is the wave that I swim in.
Born as a flower somewhere in the northern but raised as a cheetah in the city.
With all these info, maybe you think you know me
or maybe you don't.

I am a Rookie. A beginner.
But I do my M.Word well. Perhaps I dwell as an average in PDF too.
But I know my computer,
maybe halfway through.
Excel is my weakness,
boxes make me feel caged
and therefore never understanding the unnecessary lines.
I get away with most assignments and projects
with the hand of YouTube and Google.
Because
everything is googleable ain't it?
But vain and ignorance will not be in my creed.
My limitation won't be my blind side anymore
because I thrive to survive,
just like a weed I start,
but bloom I will as a rose with computer literacy.

M.Word. M. Power Point,
PDF,
Dropbox, Google Drive,
emails,
Torrents,
are those in my vocabularies and reach.

As mentioned above,
Youtube and Google
have proven themselves worthy
as my comrade in wisdom and reliability.

My training was limited,
only to homeworks
Just because,
the facilities will not provide us with the luxury
of exploring and going on an adventure with English.
Technology is everywhere and everything
but is something foreign in my school.
Something deemed more as a liability rather than an asset.

Having a computer extends one's capacity,
Having a wifi extends our reach,
Having a projector extends our vision,
Having incorporated technology in education
takes off the barriers and tears down the gates
of Malaysian citizen to the world.
Technology should click with students because
it is in their blood.
Getting more attention span, sparking interests and
igniting creativity
There is so much wonder to be explored into
and with less limitations,
we open a new world to the children's mind.
Not to forget,
of the path we show them to
of the world of Internet
the paths that are safe
the paths that are useful
and the paths that will help them shape a better,
more responsible person.
Technology and learning should be integrated,
they should work alongside of each other.
NOT segregated.
Like two souls they will create something more powerful
and that is something beyond our realisation.

I expect of the expected things one would think of;
mixing my abilities to teach and educate
but in the virtual world.
Combining two forces into one,
I would be irresistible,
with control
and more knowledge
that I did not think of
since yesterday.
